Wison Engineering has sponsored a fourth school in China as part of the company’s hope primary school project. The Wangqingmen Town school, located in Fushun City, Liaoning Province, was recently renamed Wison Hope Primary School.
When Wison Project (China) Co., Ltd, a division of Wison Group, participated in the construction of an ethylene project in Fushun in 2009, the company joined forces with the Fushun Commission of the Communist Youth League of China and the municipal project hope office to launch a program to provide funding to the Wangqingmen school.
Wang Lizhong, vice president of Wison Group, says engagement in philanthropic efforts is a key value of the company in line with the corporate commitmentto benefiting people through science and technology.
Wison’s hope primary school program provides financial support for students, while also promoting clean and safe study environments to make sure students stay on track for a bright future.
Since 2004, Wison has sponsored three primary schools in Gansu, Xinjiang and Shandong provinces. The company encourages its employees to personally contribute by mentoring underprivileged students at the schools. Wison also invites students with excellent academic records from Shanghai to participate in summer camps with outstanding young people who attend the schools the company sponsors.
In addition to its primary school projects, Wison is engaged with other corporate social responsibility initiatives. The company has constructed the Wison Arts Center at its headquarters with the mission of integrating art exploration with sci-tech innovation. It also launched the first-ever Wison Shinai’an Literature Prize to support the cultivation of China’s literary talent.
