(4th March, 2011, Shanghai China) After five years of development, Wison Energy was granted a total of four invention patents for its 600,000 ton high purity carbon monoxide project. With the largest domestic capacity and an advanced international level in energy saving and emission reduction rate, the project has been recognized as a model for the large-scale coal-to-chemical industry in terms of cleanliness, energy saving and safety in production. Wison’s high-purity carbon monoxide project started in 2006, the first year of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. It constitutes an important breakthrough in clean production technology of the coal-to-chemical industry and satisfactorily met the energy development targets listed in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan.
Comprehensively utilizing Technologies for Waste Heat and By-products for Effective Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction
As the largest domestic supplier of carbon monoxide products, Nanjing plant of Wison Energy has made remarkable achievements in energy conservation and emission reduction by comprehensively using waste heat and by-products. For example, the annual output of 150,000 tons of by-product coal cinder is recycled and used in building materials and as a cement additive. The waste heat and by-product steam emitted during the production process is supplied to downstream customers, while the remaining steam is conveyed to generators for power generation, thus optimizing the use of energy. These measures save 55,000 tons of standard coal every year. Compared to a methanol plant of the same capacity, the annual reduction of CO2 emissions surpasses 600,000 tons and the total sulfur emissions of tail gases is less than one tenth of the levels required by national standards. The 600,000 tons per year high purity carbon monoxide project of Wison Energy has become a benchmark in the field of clean and energy saving production in the domestic coal-to-chemical industry.
Four Invention Patents were granted and Key Equipment was localized admin admin
Wison has mastered advanced foreign and domestic technologies and made technical improvements on equipment parts in the spirit of independent innovation. As a result, it was granted four national invention patents, in areas including town coal gas, co-production, methanol, and integrated processing technique. By effectively adopting all leading domestic and foreign technologies (including the GE coal slurry gasification technology, the Linde’s Rectisol Process and the Linde cryogenic separation process), key equipment such as the coal gasification furnaces, methanol synthesis tower and Rectisol tower have been successfully localized and trial runs of the equipment have been successful in smooth and safe. The integrated management and innovation of technologies and equipment of this project are bound to contribute substantially to the improvement of the overall technology levels in the coal gasification industry in China.
Recently, Wison Energy won the second prize of the Nanjing Science and Technology Progress Awards for its 600,000 tons highly-purified carbon monoxide and equipment localization. The Nanjing Science and Technology Progress Award was founded by the Nanjing Municipal Government for implementing strategies of rejuvenating China through science and technology, and improving independent innovation. The award is Nanjing’s highest award for technological development.
