April 25, 2011 – Wison Holdings (Group) Co., Ltd., the Writers Association of Jiangsu Province and the Xinghua Municipal Government jointly announced the establishment of the Wison Shi Nai An Literature Award. The award will encourage the greater exploration and development of contemporary Chinese literature and enhance the position of Chinese literature around the world.
"With the rapid development of our business, the Wison Group has expanded our commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen,” said Cui Ying, Director of the Wison Group. “One of our long-term corporate development strategies is to coexist in harmony with our partners, the community and the natural environment in order to create social value and promote the harmonious development of human life and nature. The Wison Shi Nai An Literature Award is part of that strategy.”
The Wison Shi Nai An Literature Award will be presented every other year, with four pieces of work honored each time, including one piece from overseas. Wison and its partners have formed a Nomination Committee and Review Committee consisting of leading art critics, writers and editors to preside over the award. Real names will be used for voting and comments during the selection process. The selection results will be announced in mid-October of each award year. This year’s award will honor works produced between January 1, 2009, and December 31, 2010.
Wison has been a major contributor to arts and culture. In 2005, it established the Wison Art Center. The nonprofit public art institution regularly hosts art exhibitions featuring works by famous Chinese and foreign artists. The Wison Art Center also displays sculptures and paintings donated by artists from the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts, the Central Academy of Fine Arts and foreign countries year round. It donates proceeds of charity auctions to Wison Hope Primary Schools.
Wison was formed in Xinghua, Jiangsu, to build ethylene cracking furnaces. In the space of just over 10 years, it has became a large engineering company, with branches in Beijing, Hong Kong, Nanjing and many other Chinese cities, as well as Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Houston in the United States. Wison’s business has gradually extended into upstream and downstream areas, and expanded into healthcare, telecommunications and other high-tech industries.
